• Adopt drip and sprinkler irrigation for horticulture
• Use mulching to retain soil moisture
• Construct farm ponds and follow in-situ moisture conservation
• Deep ploughing to improve water absorption

Prepare for erratic rainfall, heat stress and possible dry spells.

• Ideal sowing window: June to mid-July after sufficient rainfall
